NEWS :: CRAFT BOX Tilda x Marie Maglaque

I am very happy today to finally announce this exciting collaboration project I have been working on since the beginning of the year. I couldn't share much about it earlier on as details were getting finalized, but we are now taking in pre-orders so it's about time to announce it to you all!

A few months ago, I was proposed to create the content of the Christmas edition of the Craft Box, which is a sewing kit delivered right to your mailbox (in Japan). It was launched in 2015 by the distributing company of Norwegian fabric and craft material brand Tilda. I was honored to be chosen to design their 4th craft box, and started to sketch and think what I would create.

I knew I wanted to link this project to my embroidered creations, so this is what I came up with:
  • a multi-pocket accessory pouch, to be used for storing your jewelry pieces while travelling, or keep your make-up items at easy reach in your handbag. I selected two patterns: the deep red one with little deers, and the light blue one with the doilies (my favorite!) as I could easily imagine so many ways to use the pretty pattern.
  • a brooch that can be turned into a Christmas tree ornament, using the pattern from the doily fabric.
The box includes extra materials and inspiration to create other decorative items with the leftover fabric, such as a napkin ring. Each Craft Box also holds a few little surprises selected by Tilda Japan among the collection.

I will hold workshops in Mitsukoshi Nihonbashi in Tokyo to realize the brooch/ Christmas ornament on December 17 (Thu) and December 19 (Sat), stay tuned!!

NEWS :: Christmas Exhibition :: Nov.30, 2015 :: Tokyo

Hello everyone!

It's about time I announce the project I have been working on since the month of September - and you may have guessed it already if you are following me on Instagram: I am preparing a NEW exhibition in Tokyo! It will be held the first week of December at Gallery Palette in Minami-Aoyama, and the theme is Christmas, Paris, ballerina and gift giving. This exhibition is in collaboration with Japanese illustrator Eri Takenaga, I am really inspired by Eri-san's work!

I am working on a soft, pastel color palette thinking of snow, tutus, delicate embroideries and a fancy Parisian Christmas! Here below are some of the items I have created these past few weeks... Follow me on Instagram or Facebook to discover more about the preparations leading to the exhibition...

Eri-san and myself will conduct workshops every day, I will announce the dates and details as soon as details are confirmed and booking can be made. Stay tuned!

Event: Dark Depth Collection by Sophia 203

Beautiful embroidered coral sandals by Sophia 203

This week I was extremely pleased to be invited to the preview of the 2016 Spring/ Summer collection Dark Depth by Sophia 203. I have been a fan of Swedish designer Sophia Watanabe's stunning embroidered accessories for a while now, and her collections never stop to surprise me.

Sophia studied fashion at Studio Berçot in Paris before moving to Jaipur (India) to assist French jeweler Marie-Hélène de Taillac. She soon fell head over heels for the Indian embroideries and was amazed at the skills of traditional craftsmen. Sophia draws her inspiration from the wonderful nature that surrounds her with themes such as butterflies, stars, flowers, cats and now the deep sea. Her costume jewelry and accessories will enhance your outfits and you are sure to receive many compliments whenever wearing one, believe me!

The event was taking place at the Light Box space, a rental studio owned by goods store Sempre and used for pop up stores, exhibitions or photo shoots. It's located in the trendy Minami-Aoyama area.
