Les Vacance d'Eté

our little church in the valley, on the Swiss side

As Autumn officially started yesterday, I felt the urge to reminisce our summer holidays in France, and share a handful of photos with you at the same time. I took less picture than in past years (too busy?) and I much regret it now.
If you are new to the blog, just let me quickly introduce you to this place where I grew up... A small village in the East part of France, on the border with Switzerland... Quite far from everything and therefore the ideal summer retreat. We were blessed with the most beautiful sun this year, which isn't always the case. My photos wouldn't be so bright and happy if the weather had been rainy!

The is the road leading to the first Swiss village once you've crossed the border. This is the place where my Grand-Ma lives, and I remember walking down this road with my sisters every Wednesday to have lunch at her house. My kids and I have done the same and they have also enjoyed swimming in the river, so much fun!

My cousin was getting married in Bretagne, and we crossed France to attend it. I had not been there for at least ten years, and it's not a place I know very well. I was blown away by the fast changing weather and beautiful seaside landscape. I am no painter but I felt very inspired by the color palette here.

Our summer holidays always end up with Grand-Ma's birthday celebration. This year we brought her to the place where she used to spend her summer "holidays". A walking distance from the village where she grew up, and by "walking distance" I mean 13km or a 3h30 little walk going up in the forest... We went there by car though (huh!).

See you next year! A l'année prochaine!

Playtime Tokyo report on Paul et Paula

And I am back on Paul et Paula, to report on Playtime Tokyo which took place in Shibuya last August. Brands were presenting their Spring/ Summer collection for 2016.

Much inspiration was drawn from exploring the fair and talking with exhibitors... The highlight this season for me was to talk with the founder + creative director of Tutu du Monde -Andrea Rembeck, discover the fabulous art installation of Nuico (below) and admire the light sculptures of French artist Zoé Rumeau, represented in Tokyo by Abi Loves.

Read the whole post on Paul et Paula - ready, set, GO!

I wanted to give you all a little guided tour inside super cute gift shop Sugar Town in Omotesando/ Harajuku area where I am having a pop up shop (until September 23, 2015). It is a great destination if you have a gift to purchase and totally budget friendly too! Here is what Motoko-san and Mai like to introduce their shop:

"Sugar Town is a select shop where you can find various special gift products which have been selected from all over the world with the concept `Gifts for Happiness` in mind.
Owners Mai & Motoko have a passion for beautiful gift wrapping, making Sugar town a one-stop-shop for the complete gift giving experience.
The stores name came from Nancy Sinatora's 1966 song `Sugar town`. Mai & Motoko hope that your experience at Sugar Town will be happy and fun, just like the song."

I enjoy their jewelry selection as much as the stationery or the homeware. You can also usually find some Polkaros items and the girls bring back some goodies whenever they travel - right now you can spot some dishes, embroidered pouches and table mats from Vietnam...

French words workshop recap!

I loved the cute addition to the Merci brooch!

Hello, here is a quick recap in pictures of last Saturday's workshop at Sugar Town. The workshop theme was embroidering short and cute French words on felt and create either a brooch or a pair of earrings. We spent a wonderful afternoon, participants were very focused and as a result they were done in no time! Amazing!!

Oh, and the pop-up shop is on until September 23, 2015 so please drop by if you are in the Omotesando area!
