I am glad to be reporting from Tokyo about the opening of Bonton's Tokyo flagship store that just opened to the public last Saturday. I am a big fan of Bonton and I never fail to visit their shop in Paris whenever I'm in town. I was excited to hear that they were landing in Tokyo in the trendy neighbourhood of Daikanyama, which is quite close to where I am living. I managed to drop by over the weekend to check out the shop and their Spring/Summer collection.
The team at Bonton successfully recreated the cool and trendy vibe that you find at their Paris flagship store, with lots of quirky details and a top selection of gadgets and accessories. There is even a little corner with self-service coffee, tables and children books to browse (see photos below)!

Of course the collections (from infant up to 12Y) immediately attract all of the attention: very colourful yet harmonious with delicate details and gorgeous prints. Bonton's design team works with natural color pigments only and launch every season about 20 different colours per collection. That alone is already impressive! Check it for yourself as my pictures below don't give enough credit to the perfect color scheme associated to the Liberty prints.
When I visit the Paris store, I always run to the accessories section. There you will find gadgets from your childhood, birthday party must-have, stationery goodies, children's books, melanin tableware, decorative items and more...! The photo below shows you the most the Tokyo boutique has to offer, and I already want the tiger trophy, the squirrel night light & the entire suite of pink suitcases. Sweet!

Bonton also presents the work of Tamar Mogendorff, and American-based artist and maker whose work has become internationally famous. Animal heads, swans, birds, marine life... her world is as magical as it can be!
