Gift wrapping ideas...

Hello!

I am now blogging from France, where I arrived two days ago. Jet lag is kicking in today, as kids are waking up at 4:45am in the morning, and I am going to sleep way too late in the evening as the sun is only setting after 9:30pm... Temperatures are on the low side unfortunately but at least it allows me to sleep very well! I have spent a couple of hours changing my room set up an catching up with a year of reading (my mum keeps all of the Madame Figaro and Elle Decoration magazines for me - I have now a few piles of them around my bedroom).

Before leaving I wrapped up a styling/ shooting on gift wrapping, and it involves as usual kraft paper, masking tapes and pretty ribbons. It all started when my eyes caught a set of three wrapping papers on sale... I couldn't resist!

Enjoy and be inspired ♥

Upcoming Styling :: Tea Party

Hello everyone,

Despite the rainy weather and buzzing around with two kids in tow, I am working excitedly on my next styling project for Beautiful Revelry {see past stylings themes here}.

We decided on a Tea Party for this coming July, and since I will be in France and it should will be the summer, I am going to style and shoot outdoor and add a French touch! My mum has a beautiful tea set from England that had me day dreaming about tea parties when I was a little girl, so I will use it for sure! Here below is an inspiration board I have created for this blog post, and I have more pictures in Pinterest {here}.

The candy cup prize cakes are my favorite, they were created by Abby Hunter for Shop Sweet Lulu. They would make lovely favors, don't you think? Of course I have done some prep last week, and I plan to create pretty gift wrapping as well... Can't wait!!

Paper plate & cups from Beautiful Revelry;
doilies, stamps, lace and golden cutlery from a local shop;

If there is any theme you would like me to work on, please feel free to leave a comment below! So far I have created a Christmas party, a Circus Party, a Valentine's Day Brunch, an Easter table, a Dreamy Baby Shower and we celebrated Children's Day Japanese style in May!

I am never short of ideas, just running out of time ♥

Have a lovely weekend everyone!

Bazar & Garde-Manger {Tokyo}

I was finally able to check out Bazar et Garde-Manger last Sunday, a very lovely and eclectic shop located between Omotesando and Aoyama Dori. Bazar et Garde-Manger is importing in Japan products created by French designers/ artists, some I already knew and some I have discovered in the shop. They also have beautiful vintage furniture pieces, and it allows for a very unique "cabinet de curiosité" kind of atmosphere.

Behind the concept are Marthe Desmoulins and Franck Dorat, creators/ stylist/ artists extraordinaire who used to run the famous Absinthe shop in Paris where I spent hours and hours during my fashion student years browsing their selection of clothes and other delightful accessories...

My photos don't give credit enough to the wonderful selection of objects, toys, furnitures, home linen, accessories etc... made available to anyone who likes one-of-a-kind, unique pieces and young designers collections.

You will be able to find brands such as La Cerise sur le Gateau, Les Touristes, Lyndie Dourthe, Rice, Jerome Galvin and more...

I have to write "une mention speciale" for my friends Yann Gicquel and Jérome Gigot, owners and designers behind French label Les Touristes (see photo below) who have introduced me to Bazar et Garde-Manger... I am a big fan of their colorful and "flowerful" collections!

If you find yourself in Tokyo in Omotesando, make sure to check out Bazar et Garde-Manger and treat yourself to something French and pretty!

Re-branding - Moodboard {Your Darling Blog Workshop}

Hey friends,

How are you all doing? I have had a great weekend, and spent the whole of Sunday on my own while my lovely husband was looking after the children. It felt good indeed, I feel refreshed and full of energy to start the week!

My current blog design as of today and since May 2010...

I had planned to share a bit with you about the re-branding of my business, which has started a couple of months ago - with the help of a wonderful coach {Isa Maria Seminaga of Noisette Academy}. The current design of my blog was created in May 2010 - more than 3 years ago, and I felt it was about time to freshen up things a bit. Ideally I would like to create everything myself, from the design to the integration, but let's see what will happen... It's quite a challenge given that I have little knowledge of Photoshop or html/ css...

I had heard wonderful feedback about Jo Klima's online workshop {Your Darling Blog} to help design your own blog so I decided to join the session in May. Three weeks down the road I have created a pretty inspiration board, and my blog layout on paper and I have almost chosen all of my fonts. I have also signed up for a wordpress.org account and chosen a theme {Thesis} and a new web host.

I have truly enjoyed this course so far, I only wish to have more time and energy in hand to work and research more. The structure of the workshop is very clear and easy to understand, as well as the step-by-step instructions to create your own design on Photoshop. I am definitely recommending it to anyone interested in tackling in their blog design!

Here is my inspiration board... Thoughts?

I am felling a bit overwhelmed at the idea of starting designing the layout on Photoshop though {I am a newbie!}, especially the header. I am especially worried about my ability to come up with a stunning new logo, nothing less!! I want to keep things fresh, feminine and fun. Focus a lot on party styling (but not only) and explore new horizons, be a goal-setter and a goal-getter (I was utterly inspired by this read).

On top of refreshing the look of the blog, I am also planning to launch a new site under a brand new name. With the help of Isa, I have decided to focus more on my styling activities and workshops, and less on the Mini Me dolls. I am going to switch gradually all of my social media account's names but I have already started a new Facebook page, check it out now and please follow if you wish!

Stay tuned everyone!

The Queen of Diaper Cakes {Styling}

As you all know, I produced a baby shower table styling featured last month on Beautiful Revelry. I had proposed to my lovely friend NicO to team-up with me as she makes the most beautiful diaper cakes I have ever seen.

NicO is the creative designer and owner of Japanese brand and online shop Pannolini. On top of creating diaper cakes, she's also selling gorgeous baby items such as aden+anais swaddle muslins or Laikonik gorgeous products on her online shop. NicO came up with a new design just for this table styling, a two-tier diaper cake in the color scheme I had chosen to work with. Adorned with pompom, ribbons and flowers, it was stunning!

I borrowed two more designs and worked on an additional series of photos as I was so inspired. I am very happy to share them all with you today, enjoy!

Have you ever thrown a baby shower for a friend or have you had one yourself? what do you like most about it?

And how about my Mum?

I don't think I shared here on the blog a photo of what I had prepared for my own mum on Mother's Day... Here it is then: a brooch specially made for the occasion, nestled in a handmade box I purchased in Tokyo. I didn't make the box this time :-)

Tokyo Embroidery Workshops :: Wrapping up for the season!

I wrapped up my last embroidery workshop of the season at the end of May - two weeks ago already! It was a lot of fun to welcome participants in my own home and share my passion with others. It was a lot of work as well, as it involves a lot of preparation beforehand [a pristine clean house, change of decoration etc...]. Since we needed more than 3 hours for this workshop, I had also decided to offer lunch in this package. Home cooked with love and dedication by yours truly!

All of the above brooches were made by participants to the workshops... well done!

I am currently working on the workshop schedule for September/ October 2013 and I am hoping to come up with many more exciting projects!

Stay tuned and keep creating!

Teachers' Gifts & Cute Packaging

My daughter was graduating from Kindergarten last week, and we prepared some "handmade" gifts for her teachers... I couldn't involve her in the making as much as I had planned [for the lack of time!] but she picked up the fabrics for each teacher and the KG principal. She also made cute drawings on the blank cards I provided her, and I had fun with the packaging... Which one is your favorite?

This is a new design that I created for a styling table I recently made for Beautiful Revelry. They are a mini version of my regular Mini-Me dolls... they are very cute and measure only 13cm!
