Isn't the week passing by faster this week? Hard to believe it's already Wednesday and I haven't posted for nearly a week... I wanted to share some photos taken last Saturday with Instagram while wandering in my FAVORITE area in Tokyo. I mean it. I used to spend most of my free time in Omotesando seven years ago!
Aoyama - Harajuku - Omotesando is what I call the Tokyo golden triangle for shopping. I made up this one, but honestly it is shopping heaven! I will probably need to scan it closely and report my very most favorite shops next year!
Last Saturday's stroll was more about getting acquainted with the area again, indulging with a lot of window shopping and letting the inspiration soak me in.
Many narrow streets with cafes, many hairdressers and all sorts of shops make it THE destination for any visitors in Tokyo. Plan to spend minimum one entire day and wear very comfy shoes! The crowd is young and trendy.
A very chic area, and a shopping destination if you like high street, local brands (Yohji Yamamoto, Issey Miyake, Tsumori Chisato etc...). The highlight is also the PRADA building built in 2003 by Herzog & Demeuron. Stunning piece of architecture. We like the design shop SEMPRE with its eclectic selection of objects for the home. I was impressed by the paper party wear (middle pic) which looked so chic. I will make sure to use them in some upcoming party styling!
I was taken aback by the LV shop window (first pic on the left). This wax of Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama (mercy Laetitia!) looked so real! I haven't checked her creation for the brand yet, but I am sure it involves a lot of polka dots (her signature?).
What were you up to this past weekend?
PS: If you have participated to my giveaway, watch out this space tomorrow as we will draw the winner in the morning and announcement shall follow shortly. Thanks!
