Composition {Shells}

There is nothing better than going "shell hunting" on a beautiful beach and look for the most amazing, colorful and textured shells... I always enjoy it a lot and this time was no different... Impossible to bring them back home though...

Huskisson B&B - Jervis Bay {Australia}

Hello everyone!

Yes, we are back from Australia, and I am back to the blogging world with loads of things to share with you. First of all, our holiday trip was awesome! We had a great time in Sydney and enjoyed a lot our planned vacation in the Jervis bay area {which is about 2 and a half hours south of Sydney}.

View of the entrance and verandah of Huskisson B&B

I want to share with you today about our lovely stay in Huskisson Bed & Breakfast. Kate and Stephen were our wonderful hosts for two days and the kids {and us} enjoyed the time spent in this charming and tastefully renovated weatherboard cottage built in 1913!
We had the whole family suite for ourselves which includes a nice bedroom for parents with French doors to the garden, second bedroom for kids and a big bathroom with bathtub and shower!

Parent room with queen size bed in the family suite

As Kate describes it best herself on the website:
The B&B has been recently renovated and decorated to create an uncomplicated, beachy feel.
All our guest rooms are spacious and uncluttered with a hint of retro chic. All the guests’ bedrooms have French doors leading out onto the verandah, or garden terrace area. The stylish, modern ensuite bathrooms all have big clawfoot baths, generous walk-in showers and a heated towel rail or underfloor heating.
Guests have the use of a sitting-room with a wood fire for winter, a selection of magazines, games to play and books to read. Furnished with our cosy favourites and decorated with our collection of real art and vintage touches, the ambiance is welcoming, relaxing and unique.

Breakfast was served in the verandah which was such a privilege with the sun gently rising above us. A beloved feeling I dearly miss in Singapore as we don't have a balcony/ terrasse/ verandah... although we have a lot of sun!
We were treated with delicious fruit salad, freshly baked bread, homemade jam, eggs and great coffee every morning. I loved my cappuccino, thank you so much Stephen!

We were lucky enough to share the common area with another family with a little girl who was just about Chloe's age. They had fun playing together and it certainly added to the pleasure of not having to provide entertainment to our 4 year-old :)

We mainly spent our time at the beach, and visiting one National Park where we saw wild kangaroos {including a huge male that truly scared us!}. We even managed to see a dolphin while in Shark Net beach: magical and beautiful!

I highly recommend you to visit Jervis Bay and stay over at Huskisson Bed & Breakfast if you have the chance to live in NSW or plan a visit to Sydney soon. It will truly amaze you!

Huskisson Bed & Breakfast:

Kate has recently started a blog called Love in a B&B where she shares her behind the scenes and make-over of her lovely B&B. It doesn't hurt that she writes so well too! Pay her visit, you will love it...

Hand-embroidery with sequins

I have made this piece of embroidery a couple of years ago {hmm exactly 10 years ago in Italy} and I found out about it last Christmas while at my parent's house {I have so many treasures left in France in my old bedroom... I should show you one day...}. Anyways I was super happy to find this embroidery as I have great memories of my time in Florence, but now I am not sure how to use it...

What would you do with it? does it inspire you?

PS: it's made on a piece of dark grey corduroy {34cm x 22.5cm}

Keeping things organized {Corners of my home}

Here is another little photo of my home... still in my bedroom/office room... I know it's far from ideal to have your desk in your bedroom but at the moment that's the only solution we have... so trying to keep it all organized and tied up...

Notice the jars and cups on top of this Ikea shelf? ... they are also from Ikea {Yngaren}!
Boxes from department store in Emporium mall in Bangkok and Ikea.
The mesh bag is not done yet... but soon enough on sale in my shop!

We are flying tonight to Sydney and we are all super excited... expect less posts than usual, but I have one more post this coming Friday... stop by and say hello!
We are back on the 23rd and hopefully I will have plenty of things to share with you then...
Take care! and Happy Easter :)

Etsy Treasury {My Romantic Pink List by PearlyNotes}

It's feels so good to start the week with one of my creations being featured in a lovely treasury on Etsy. It's been curated by PearlyNotes and it's called My Romantic Pinky List...

As PearlyNotes, who sells beautiful kilim cushions on Etsy, I am in the mood for sweet pink shades items... I would love to wear the magenta ballerina, the gorgeous ring and the silky gown to work from home today! and later I would have some tea with my girlfriend and taste the delicious macaroons...

Oh happy day!

A girl's room {contemporary with vintage hint}

I played with Olioboard again yesterday... it's still time consuming at this point as my "library" isn't big enough and it requests me to do a lot of virtual shopping - or call it product search - for each mood board I want to create.... but I always enjoy the results. The last time was for The Handmade Hullabaloo and I had a great feedback .

I wanted to work on a little girl's room - say 4 to 8 years old, with a contemporary atmosphere and vintage hint {think toys, furnitures} and I have put together a couple of items that I know my daughter {4 years old} would enjoy a lot. Of course you can't stop at these few toys and decoration elements... there is so much more space for imagination!

*** I have researched most of the products in this inspiration board on French online websites. You can add them to your list as they all carry great designs, sometimes unique ones:
Prairymood
Bianca & Family
Edmund
File dans ta chambre

and I will continue to introduce you to fresh new shops and brands Made in France...

Wall Stickers #2 {by Mae} + {in French}

If I was to invest in wall stickers/ decals for decorating my home in the near future, Mae reusable fabric wall decals would come first no matter what... Ever since I found out about them on Etsy, I can't stop drooling over and over the fabulous, dreamy stickers...
I wished to be a little girl again and have the tea set over my desk... but guess what? since then mini stickers and adult wall decals are also available! no more excuse...

This is what I would shop for my girl...

... green thumb ... teatime ...

... and this is what I wish for my boy...

... and the mini stickers would be for me, myself and I...
... here ... here ... and here...

... birds ...

and if you are looking for unique, 100% recycled wrapping papers...
... it's here!

Have you decorated your home or your kids bedrooms with wall stickers? Do you own Mae wall stickers? I would love you to share with me some photos on Facebook!

J'adore!

A Package from Japan {Tavolo Tavola}

Happy Monday everyone!

We had a lovely weekend here in Singapore with a beautiful sun... on schedule was a shift of bedroom for the kids {we moved Mathias back in his bedroom}, a birthday party on Saturday afternoon and we had friend over at our place yesterday for lunch {which means yummy food --> various spreads with fresh bread + French casserole + chocolate cake + wines}. Then we lazily spent the rest of the afternoon by the pool --> Happy ME!!!

Last Friday night I received a lovely package from Japan - another surprise from my dear friend Mai... We have known each other for nearly 10 years {time flies...} and we met in Florence while studying Italian. We have seen each other a couple of times since then in Japan and then in Bangkok. And in between we exchanged numerous letters and packages... trying to impress each other with new packaging ideas, little gifts and sweet words... on top of being such a wonderful friend, Mai is also a great cook and a very creative person {photography, graphic design, interior decoration...}. She is a true inspiration!

Mai has recently opened her own little shop called Tavolo Tavola in the city where she's currently living with her husband Mitsuo and her puppy Luca {in Fukui - West Coast of Japan}. She's selling a selection of Japanese antique and vintage dishes, her own handmade soaps, paper goods etc... all things she's passionate about! Her shop must be a delightful place to visit, and I can only wish for making a trip back to Japan a reality soon... Good luck Mai, good luck Japan!

With Love,
Marie
